چکیده

Abstract We investigated the dye-removal potential of a collection 61 cold-adapted yeasts from King George Island, Antarctica, on agar plates supplemented with 100 mg L –1 several textile dyes; among which isolates 81% decolorized Reactive Black 5 (RB-5), 56% decolorizing Orange 16, but only 26% doing so Blue 19 and Acid 74. Furthermore, we evaluated ligninolytic using 2,2ʹ-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic-acid) diammonium salt-, 3,5-dimethoxy-4-hydroxybenzaldehydazine-, or manganese-supplemented detected no activity, possibly due to mechanism involving reductases. The removal kinetics were studied in liquid medium RB-5 selection 9 yeasts. highest volumetric-removal rates (η) found for Candida sake 41E (4.14 h ), Leucosporidium muscorum F20A (3.90 Cystofilobasidium infirmominiatum F13E ). Different UV–Vis spectra obtained if dye occurred by biodegradation biosorption/bioaccumulation. L. was selected study effect different chemical environmental parameters process. Optimum conditions 10 g glucose within an initial pH range 5.0 6.0. Up 700 could be removed 45 h. High-performance chromatography profiles consistent dye. Phytotoxicity estimated calculating 50%-inhibition concentration (IC 50 ) Lactuca sativa seeds. These findings propose psychrophilic as novel environmentally suitable alternative treatment dye-industry wastewaters.

Biodegradation of textile azo-dyes byPhanerochaete chrysosporium.

Of 18 commercially used textile dyes, eight were degraded by the white rot fungus,Phanerochaete chrysosporium, by 40 to 73% based on decrease of colour. Both the lignin-degrading enzyme system ofP. chrysosporium and adsorption to its cell mass were involved in the degradation of the diazo dye, Reactofix Gold Yellow. Degradation was best achieved by adding the dye to the medium and then inoculat...

Biodegradation of bioaccessible textile azo dyes by Phanerochaete chrysosporium.

Azo dyes are important chemical pollutants of industrial origin. Textile azo dyes with bioaccessible groups for lignin degrading fungi, such as 2-methoxyphenol (guaiacol) and 2,6-dimethoxyphenol (syringol), were synthesised using different aminobenzoic and aminosulphonic acids as diazo components. The inocula of the best biodegradation assays were obtained from a pre-growth medium (PAM), contai...

Use of titanium dioxide photocatalysis on the remediation of model textile wastewaters containing azo dyes.

The photocatalytic degradation of two commercial textile azo dyes, namely C.I Reactive Black 5 and C.I Reactive Red 239, has been studied. TiO(2) P25 Degussa was used as catalyst and photodegradation was carried out in aqueous solution under artificial irradiation with a 125 W mercury vapor lamp. The effects of the amount of TiO(2) used, UV-light irradiation time, pH of the solution under treat...

Treatment of Simulated Textile Wastewater Containing Reactive Azo Dyes Using Laboratory Scale Trickling Filter

The present study was conducted to evaluate the potential applicability of biological trickling filter system for the treatment of simulated textile wastewater containing reactive azo dyes with bacterial consortium under non-sterile conditions. The percentage decolorization for the treatment of wastewater containing structurally different dyes was found to be higher than 95% in all trials. The ...
